Course Information

Introduction

Clear communication prevents accidents, delays, and rework on site. This five-day course focuses on practical English used in everyday construction tasks. Participants practise safety briefings, reading plans, giving instructions, and writing short reports. Activities combine short classroom sessions with role play and document work.

Objectives

1. Deliver and understand routine safety briefings and permit instructions using standard phrases.
2. Read and interpret basic site drawings, signs, labels, and simple specifications relevant to daily tasks.
3. Give and follow step-by-step task instructions and respond to change requests on site.
4. Communicate with supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers to coordinate materials and schedules.
5. Complete common written tasks such as incident reports, work orders, time sheets, and short professional emails.

- All training sessions are conducted from Monday to Friday, following the standard working week observed in the United Kingdom and European Union. Saturday and Sunday are official weekends and are not counted as part of the course duration.
